i'm finally here in the city of dreadful politics. i live in one of the opposition strongholds in a pretty fancy apartment with two folks from the states and have been spending my days between chavista rallies (even though i promised i wouldn't), buying furniture, changing dollars, and as a shadow of the minister of the popular economy for the city of caracas. as i move between and within all of these spaces i miss home so much. i would give anything to confirm my life outside of here. to wake-up cold assured that rain was coming to the bay, able to call smurph in the early morning, to run with lis, to walk with j... i miss my folks and can't wait to see you out in these parts. until then here go so images from my first week.
